Brisbane Roar Lock In Two Young Goalkeepers for the Seasons Ahead

Brisbane Roar have added two promising young goalkeepers to their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League season, signing 18-year-old George Plusnin on a four-year deal and 19-year-old Oscar Page on a three-year deal.

Both arrived at the club through very different paths, but share the same ambition: to push for A-League minutes at Suncorp Stadium.

George Plusnin — a Brisbane junior going professional

Plusnin grew up as a Brisbane City junior before progressing through the Roar B Team setup, spending several years developing within the club’s system.

Earlier this year, he earned his first Young Socceroos call-up for the 2026 ASEAN U-19 Boys’ Championship in Medan, Indonesia, one of seven players to debut for the national team at that tournament.

Signing with the Roar is something he has worked toward for years. “I’m super grateful to sign with my childhood club,” Plusnin said. “It’s something I’ve always dreamed of and means a lot to me. I’m excited for the season ahead, to keep improving every day, and do everything I can to help the team achieve success.”

Oscar Page — a long way from Adelaide

Page made the move from Adelaide to join the Roar B Team ahead of the 2025/26 season, going on to play seven matches between the posts during the campaign. That run of performances was enough to earn him a professional contract.

“Gaining my first professional contract for a club of such caliber and history is truly a privilege,” Page said. “Being part of the squad last season gave me a great insight into the culture and atmosphere this team is capable of, with the results now to follow. I believe this next chapter will be something special and I’m eager to get started.”

Building from within

Both players trained regularly with the A-League Men’s squad last season, giving them exposure to the standards required at the top level before their scholarship deals were formalised.

Sporting Director James Gow said the signings reflected the club’s focus on building from within. “George and Oscar reflect our goal of developing the best young talent in Brisbane,” Gow said.

“They both trained regularly with the A-League Men’s team last season and will be eager to continue growing as professionals and competing to play A-League minutes in 26/27. I have full belief that they will make the most of this opportunity.”
