Are you eager to kickstart your Christmas shopping activities to avoid the rush? The Australian Koala Foundation (AKF) is spreading the cheer and igniting the Christmas spirit with a special shopping event ahead of the holidays.
Everyone is invited to check out the items for sale at The Australian Koala Foundation shop on 40 Charlotte Street, at the building’s basement level. Happening on Thursday, 21 October 2021, from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., the shopping event is a way to raise more funds to protect the koala habitat. Proceeds of this event will go directly back to the foundation.
Score some great deals among the hundreds of gift ideas that will be on display. Those who stay longer may get a chance to win amazing door prizes.
“It’s a lovely evening and makes shopping for Christmas gifts stress-free and enjoyable,” said AKF Chair, Deborah Tabart OAM, of the Christmas shopping event.
“This year has been difficult for everyone, but this night presents an opportunity for our team to connect with our generous supporters and extend a thank you for the support they have given us throughout the year.”
“To thank our supporters for being a part of the AKF community we will be offering beverages and delicious nibbles for our extended trading hours,” Ms Tabart said.
Patrons who won’t be able to attend, however, may still support the event by shopping online.
Celebrate the festive season by watching “Lights of Christmas” at the historic St Stephen’s Cathedral on Elizabeth Street this December.
Due to popular demand, Lights of Christmas returns to Brisbane for a second year. Everyone is invited to come and gather on the lawn of the Cathedral of St Stephen for what promises to be an extraordinary sound and light projection show.
The themes for this year’s light and digital animation tale are peace, joy, and goodwill — all of which represent the true spirit of Christmas.
Lights of Christmas is a free event that runs daily from December 11th until December 24th. Music, food, and children’s activities begin at 6:30 p.m. whilst the actual 12-minute light show starts at 7:00 p.m. and will run continuously until 10:30 p.m.
Apart from the lights display, a special feature of different events and choirs will also take place at the venue each night. Visit the Archdiocese of Brisbane to RSVP and to know more information about the event’s nightly schedule.
What else are you waiting for? Mark your calendars today and plan your visit with the entire family to St. Stephen’s Cathedral for The Lights of Christmas show.
