Milton residents are being urged to share their thoughts on a proposed new, free, and frequent bus loop that would transform local transport in the suburb.
The route, designed to run every 15 minutes, seven days a week, is the culmination of extensive community consultation and research.
The proposed loop promises to connect residents to key destinations like shops, theatres, medical centres and post offices, eliminating the hassle of driving and parking.
The initiative was spearheaded by Ms Katinka Winston-Allom, Mr Stephen Bates and Ms Holstein Wong. The Greens are encouraging residents to visualise a Milton where daily errands and leisure activities are easily accessible by public transport.
While securing council and state government support for the loop is a significant undertaking, Ms Winston-Allom is steadfast in her commitment to championing the project.
However, before embarking on the campaign, she’s determined to ensure the proposal aligns with the community’s vision.
An interactive map on Ms Winston-Allom’s website details the proposed route and showcases its proximity to bus and train connections, shopping precincts, state schools, and other vital community hubs. Residents can use the map to explore how the loop might integrate with their daily lives.
Residents are also invited to visit website and complete a survey to share their thoughts on the proposed bus loop.
The survey results will be crucial in shaping the final proposal and strengthening the case for its implementation.
