Winter season can be pretty mild in Brisbane compared to other regions. So, it’s no wonder that the American Express Openair Cinemas will be mounting its annual event outdoors in the middle of the season in its new location at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens.
Last year, the American Express Openair Cinemas opened in Brisbane in the middle of crisp and lovely spring weather. This year, the event will open on Friday, the 19th of July 2019 and will run until the 18th of August 2019.
The weather might be a tad cold but it’s convenient for cosying up with a blanket and cup of warm drink, whilst you enjoy the outdoor movie with your date or your family.

Movie nights are even more perfect with food and American Express Openair Cinemas has partnered this year with the Pizza Queensland Bros which shall be serving wood-fired pizzas, salads and antipasti. Wednesday’s screenings will be extra special for wine lovers as guests will be able to sample eight flavours of drinks Giesen Wines during the Happy Hour.
In addition to the movies, live acts are going to perform before the screening.
This is a pet-friendly venue so movie-goers are welcome to bring their furry pals. The RSPCA Queensland will set up a pet adoption area every Friday whilst the American Express Openair Cinemas runs.
